Project Experience

Technical delivery capability across mining and industrial infrastructure in West Africa.

Representative Experience

SITEC provides engineering, survey and project systems across mining and infrastructure projects in West Africa. What follows shows the kinds of engagement we deliver — presented by category rather than by client name, to protect commercial confidentiality.

Gold Mining Operations

Engineering and construction management support for operational gold mines — including plant modifications, infrastructure upgrades and expansion projects.

  • On-site engineering oversight during plant expansions
  • Construction supervision for process and infrastructure upgrades
  • Topographic surveys for mine development and pit planning
  • Technical documentation and as-built recording

Greenfield Mining Studies

Engineering inputs and technical coordination for early-stage mining developments — from prefeasibility through to detailed design.

  • Engineering inputs to feasibility and prefeasibility studies
  • Site topographic and geospatial baseline surveys
  • Multidisciplinary design coordination
  • Cost estimation inputs and schedule development

Industrial Infrastructure

Project management and engineering oversight for industrial facility construction — including warehousing, workshops, power distribution and water treatment.

  • Project planning, scheduling and progress monitoring
  • Construction supervision and quality assurance
  • HSE compliance oversight during active construction
  • Commissioning and handover documentation

Linear Infrastructure & Earthworks

Survey and engineering oversight for access roads, haul roads, site platforms and drainage systems associated with mining and industrial developments.

  • Topographic and route surveys
  • Drone-based mapping and volumetric analysis
  • Earthwork quantity calculations and monitoring
  • As-built surveys and progress documentation

Project descriptions represent categories of experience. Specific client names, project locations and commercial details are confidential.

Selected Case Studies

Representative engagements with measurable outcomes.

Full-Site Baseline Survey — Lithium Project, Mali

Challenge
A 3,000+ hectare mining site required a complete, survey-grade geospatial baseline to support engineering studies and site development.
Approach
A drone photogrammetry campaign with RTK/GNSS ground control covered the full property, with rigorous QC on image capture and aerotriangulation.
Outcome
Full-site orthophoto and digital terrain model delivered with GIS and CAD outputs — the geospatial baseline now underpinning the project's engineering work.

Power-Line Corridors & Site Mapping — Gold Projects, Côte d'Ivoire & Senegal

Challenge
Several gold projects each needed a 20 km-plus power-line corridor survey and mapping of a 1,200+ ha site — on tight timelines.
Approach
Each mobilisation combined corridor and site acquisition — drone photogrammetry with ground control, corridor-optimised flight plans and unified deliverable packages.
Outcome
Corridor surveys, orthophotos and terrain models delivered as direct inputs to line design and site layout across several West African projects.

Engineering-Grade Visual Inspection — HV Transmission Line, West Africa

Challenge
A high-voltage transmission corridor needed a component-level visual condition assessment its owner could act on — not a folder of raw photos.
Approach
Visual drone acquisition proceeded tower by tower, with AI-assisted findings extraction, engineer validation of every finding, severity grading and a priority intervention register.
Outcome
275-page bilingual engineering report with 427 severity-graded findings (A/B/C), corridor orthomosaic strip, DXF CAD and DTM (digital terrain model) deliverables.

Industrial Facility Survey & Mapping — Mali

Challenge
An operating industrial facility needed an accurate topographic survey and up-to-date mapping of its installations to support site management, infrastructure maintenance and development planning.
Approach
GNSS/RTK survey and site mapping — building footprints, utilities, roads and boundaries — delivered in engineering-ready and GIS formats.
Outcome
A site plan and topographic data delivered in CAD and GIS, providing a reliable, reusable geospatial baseline for facility management and development projects. Client name withheld.
